The area we serve is a mix of market towns and villages interspersed with medieval churches, major stately homes and all the trappings you’d expect of a landscape dominated by tourism and agriculture.
To the north is the North Yorkshire Moors National Park whilst to the west are the majestic Howardian Hills amidst a breath-taking rolling landscape with wooded valleys through which the River Rye flows.
Worship styles vary between our Churches, and include contemporary, café, Messy Church and traditional, with regular Holy Communion.
Our Aims
The Ryedale Methodist Circuit incorporates a broad spectrum and it is hoped that all may find a place of worship and discipleship where they feel accepted and included.
‘We have no mission but to serve, in full obedience to our Lord, to care for all without reserve, and spread His liberating Word.” (F. Pratt Green)
Churches Together
There are many different Christian churches and denominations, but all have the same basic calling – to worship God, to share the good news about Jesus Christ and to work for the good of all people.
Often they need to work together, as well as co-ordinate the work they each do separately. When they do, they are acting as Churches Together.
There are Churches Together groups in Kirkbymoorside, Helmsley, Thornton Dale and Pickering and across Southern Ryedale.
