Sunday Service Times & Plan September/October/November

Have you noticed the vast amount of coverage on the TV lately about loneliness? So many folk, old and young in our communities are facing long days without conversation. We have a range of activities across the Circuit to which we could easily invite folk to just to ease that isolation. 
Why not offer to take a neighbour to something? (for lunches it might be wise to phone first – but I am sure you will be made very welcome!!)

Space to Pray
will meet at Norton Trinity,  
1st Wednesday each month 13.30 - 14.15. Pop in and enjoy a short time of quiet, reflection, prayer and fellowship. All Welcome.

Coffee every Saturday morning at Malton Wesley Centre, 10

Friday evening: opening worship celebration with Burniston band; late night comedy with Paul Kerensa; youth programme
Saturday morning: early communion; morning celebration with speakers Elaine and Stephen Lindridge, and Ashley Cooper; short synod session; children’s activities; youth programme
Saturday afternoon: a variety of workshops and activities, including talks on social justice, rural issues, evangelism; bible study; hands-on activities with music and art; reflective space; Messy Church how-to sessions; local arrangement ideas; family film; outdoor activities (pilgrimage walk, litter-pick, labyrinth, scavenger hunt); theatre presentation
Saturday evening: celebration with speaker David Wilkinson and worship lead by Lou Fellingham and band; children’s activities; after-hours events including silent disco; youth programme
Sunday morning: a variety of worship options, including Praise Party, Northumbria Community, Sacramental Fellowship and Forest Church; plenary closing celebration

Norton Bethel Methodist Church. HOLIDAY CLUB for 5-11 year olds. Games, stories, crafts and snack. Parents, grandparents and younger children are welcome to stay. Just come - we would love to see you.

MEMORIAL SERVICE. As Pickering MC is out of action, this year the service will be held at Thornton le Dale Methodist Church. All are welcome to attend the service but we wish to extend a particular invitation to bereaved families and friends. Names known to us will be mentioned during the service, but you  may also like to include others who you would wish to be remembered. If so, details can be added on arrival. You may also like to bring a photograph of your loved one with you to the service.

This free series of lectures aims to promote a conversation between theology and public issues, and to contribute to the creation of     personal and collective decision making in economic, political and social spheres. Speakers range from leaders in their fields to those with an important story to tell. The lectures provide people with an opportunity to engage with current issues such as politics,economics, contemporary culture,  religion, spirituality, and globalisation. The Ebor lectures offer a space for dialogue between                 
theology and a range of communities such as educational institutions, public interest groups, religious groups and anyone with an interest in contemporary issues within society.
The Ebor Lectures is an ecumenical project jointly organised by York Minster, York St John University, The Order of Carmelites,
The Yorkshire North and East District of the Methodist Church and The C. & J. B. Morrell Trust
