Have you noticed the vast amount of coverage on the TV lately about loneliness? So many folk, old and young in our communities are facing long days without conversation. We have a range of activities across the Circuit to which we could easily invite folk to just to ease that isolation.
Why not offer to take a neighbour to something? (for lunches it might be wise to phone first – but I am sure you will be made very welcome!!)

Sun 3rd 15.00 MEMORIAL SERVICE. As Pickering MC is out of action, this year the service will be held at Thornton le Dale Methodist Church. All are welcome to attend the service but we wish to extend a particular invitation to bereaved families and friends. Names known to us will be mentioned during the service, but you may also like to include others who you would wish to be remembered. If so, details can be added on arrival. You may also like to bring a photograph of your loved one with you to the service.

Speakers range from leaders in their fields to those with an important story to tell. The lectures provide people with an opportunity to engage with current issues such as politics,economics, contemporary culture, religion, spirituality, and globalisation. The Ebor lectures offer a space for dialogue between
theology and a range of communities such as educational institutions, public interest groups, religious groups and anyone with an interest in contemporary issues within society.
